The Services We Provide
Passive Fire Protection
An important element of Passive Fire Protection (PFP) is ‘Fire Compartmentation’. These fire safety systems involve dividing premises into ‘fire compartments’ to help reduce the spread of smoke and flames.
PFP can be achieved using fire doors, fire-resisting materials on floors and walls, and roof void cavity barriers, ducts, cables, and pipe work are also sealed to offer improved fire protection systems.
All work is carried out to current building regulations and British Standards. For example, BS8458 is the standard of compliance for water mist fire suppression systems in domestic and residential premises.
Fire Dampers
Fire Dampers use the same principle as louvre doors, where the louvres can either be open or shut. They are installed in ventilation ductwork and must be tested and cleaned every year.
When open, the dampers allow air to flow normally throughout a building, but when heat is detected, they close automatically. This helps to slow down the spread of fire and toxic fumes, giving people more time to evacuate.
